JOB SUMMARY
Supports and maintains plant process equipment in regards to power and controls. The controls technician is an integral member of the greater maintenance team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understand and troubleshoot existing control logic and operator interface programs
- Assist the Controls Engineers in implementation of new control systems
- Install, test and repair electrical controls components
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and apply knowledge of functional operation of machinery and electrical control units and systems
- Assist maintenance in identifying defective components and wiring, and adjusting mechanical parts
- Align, adjust and calibrate control components
- Maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests
- Develop a thorough knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation hardware and software
- Participate in root-cause analysis (RCA) efforts as necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

EDUCATION
- Technical degree or Associates Degree (AA) in electrical/electronics technology
EXPERIENCE
- Ten years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; or a combination of education and experience
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Robotics, preferably FANUC, programming and maintenance experience and certification required
- Understanding of electrical schematics and industrial codes & standards
- Demonstrated experience with programmable logic equipment and associated peripherals
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 & NFPA 495
- General understanding of industrial networks, specifically Ethernet/IP
- Understanding older legacy networks is a plus (ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH , Modbus, etc.)
- Report writing and general understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
- Willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First” attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
- Ability read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle non-energetic material
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be willing to Work 12hr shifts
