Kilgore Industries, one of the largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors in the state of Texas is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager for our Dallas/Fort Worth division who will assist in leading Project Teams to successfully deliver assigned projects. The APM assists in the management of resources, schedules, and financials while adhering to quality and control guidelines throughout the project life cycle. The successful APM will manage issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The APM contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Assists in the plan and specification analysis to determine clear and consistent interpretations of construction documents.
- Assists Project Management with planning work schedules and projecting manpower needs.
- Assists in the coordination of project personnel activities to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Advises Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assists in resolving these problems as required.
- Composes and/or edits letters, memos, reports, and procedures as required.
- Oversees and/or processes day-to-day administrative items (i.e., expense reports, supply requisitions, RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, quantity take-offs, etc.) per Supervisor’s authorization.
- Prepares special reports, studies, and statistical analysis per Supervisor’s request; may require research, development and/or interpretation of data with little supervision or instruction.
- Assists with monitoring Subcontractors, project scheduling, and cost control.
- Assists with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
- Updates and accurately generates as-built documents.
- Attends project coordination and Owner/Contractor/Architect/Engineer meetings as required.
- Assumes a proactive approach to career development; utilizes available resources within Kilgore and requests alternative instruction to help achieve Project Manager status.
- Performs additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4-year degree (or commensurate levels of technical training and related experience)
- 2 years of Project management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent MS Office skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.
- Must be courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated.
- Employment is contingent upon satisfying all job site-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Kilgore’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc.
