Job Posting: Middle School and Upper School STEAM Educator (Full-Term) Location: Killington Mountain School, Killington, VT About Killington Mountain School (KMS): Killington Mountain School (KMS) is a unique institution where student-athletes excel both academically and athletically. Nestled in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, KMS provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum accredited by NEASC, paired with world-class training facilities at Killington Resort. We serve grades 6–12 and post-graduate students across six athletic disciplines, offering year-round programs in Full-Term, Winter-Term, and Boost formats. Our blended-learning model and small class sizes foster critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, preparing students for success in sports, academics, and beyond. The Opportunity: We are seeking an innovative and dynamic STEAM educator to join our vibrant community of learners. This teaching role combines hands-on, student-centered instruction with the unique experience of working with diverse learners in a dynamic environment in a blended learning format (some students in-person, while others are traveling). As a STEAM educator, you will teach middle school students while also offering exciting upper school electives to high school students. These courses emphasize creativity, real-world problem-solving, and practical applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, hands-on STEAM instruction to middle school students throughout the full academic year. Teach upper school electives, including Survival, Applied Physics, and Interdisciplinary Design, incorporating experiential learning and innovative practices. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners and cultivates collaboration and creativity. Collaborate with faculty, coaches, and staff to integrate academic and athletic goals. Continuously innovate and refine curriculum to align with best practices in STEAM education. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a flexible, energetic, and motivated educator with a passion for innovation and experiential learning. Ideal candidates have: Experience teaching middle and high school STEAM curricula or related disciplines. Expertise in designing and delivering unique electives in STEAM. A student-centered approach to teaching, with strong differentiation skills. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. A desire to work in a close-knit, high-energy environment that balances academic rigor with athletic excellence.
