Primary Purpose:
To ensure the timely and orderly registration of students in compliance with state education and AISD Board policy. To maintain a thorough record system for recording and distributing grades.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Qualify for state paraprofessional certification
- Post high school courses or a minimum of five years of office experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills & attention to details
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
- Pleasant telephone personality and effective communications skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders
- Understanding of math and record-keeping procedures
- Computer literate
- Good typing skills
Experience:
- Three (3) years front office experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Supervise registration and withdrawal of students.
- Verify the accuracy of student records.
- Supervise assistant registrars (if applicable).
- Maintain and certify pupil transcripts, grade averages, and class rankings and inputs into computer when applicable. Post test scores to permanent record card.
- Maintain pertinent student records in computer.
- Correspond with parents and sending/receiving schools with regard to transfers, retention, transcripts, etc.
- Store cumulative folders of withdrawn students, teacher grade books, and permanent transcripts on file for the period of time prescribed by law.
- Assist students to complete applications
- Answer incoming calls regarding registration and assist parents, students and personnel with questions regarding registration, transcripts, class rank, etc.
- Prepare and distribute all 12th grade student records to requesting agencies and campus offices (if applicable).
- Coordinate the ordering and distribution of all graduate items: e., caps and gowns, diplomas, honor chords, etc. (if applicable).
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise assistant registrars when applicable
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Salary is based on working 200 days; working less days is less salary for 2024-2025 school year
