Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable, outgoing art educators are encouraged to apply for a position with our part-time education team. Primary responsibilities include facilitating weekend programs for families and flexible gallery tours for different audiences, as well as monitoring the education studios and welcoming museum visitors during public hours.
Objectives:
The education department strives to create a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, interests, and abilities. A range of programs offers exciting, innovative ways for participants to explore artworks from around the world and across history; foster creativity and personal connections through group discussions and flexible activities; and/or introduce a variety of materials and studio techniques that help participants to develop new skills.
Qualifications
- BA, BS, or BFA in studio art, art education, or art history required; teaching or museum experience preferred.
- Comfortable working with youth, families, and participants of all ages and abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, public speaking skills, and organizational skills
- Knowledgeable about inquiry-based gallery teaching and a wide range of studio art materials and practices
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment, take initiative, and problem solve
- Individuals fluent in Spanish are encouraged to apply.
