Job Title: Digitizer
Department: Product Development
Job Summary: As a Digitizer at Kimberbell, you'll play a vital role in bringing creative designs to life through digitization. Your primary responsibility will involve transforming artwork and concepts into digitized embroidery files, ensuring precision and quality in every stitch. Collaborating closely with the design team, you'll interpret their vision and technical requirements, utilizing specialized software and your keen eye for detail to produce embroidery designs that meet Kimberbell's high standards. Your expertise in digitization techniques and embroidery software will be crucial in maintaining consistency and excellence across all Kimberbell projects, contributing to the company's reputation as a leader in the crafting industry.
Position Type:
- Part-time (15-25 hours per week)
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Discusses artwork at various stages of completion and discusses necessary changes with the supervisor.
- Determine design size, select density and underlay stitch settings, review push/pull and entry/exit points on all letters and objects, choose thread colors, and prepare spec sheets for production.
- Develop strong working knowledge of embroidery on different materials.
- Setup and run physical samples on in-house embroidery equipment.
- Ability to calculate the amount of materials needed for a project.
- Assists in the Product Development testing room.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Ability to successfully pass Wilcom training (on the job).
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Design or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or CorelDraw.
- Digitizing, Printing, and or Embroidery background required.
Physical Requirements:
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 10-20 pounds at times.

Using specialized software, you'll then translate these concepts into meticulously digitized embroidery files, carefully considering stitch types, densities, and color selections to achieve the desired effect. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate closely with designers, providing feedback and making revisions as necessary to ensure the highest quality end result. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you troubleshoot any issues that arise during the digitization process, ultimately contributing to the seamless execution of Kimberbell's innovative embroidery designs.
