Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Overland Park, Kansas (KS) office's Power Delivery team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering
- Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
- Perform field investigations.
- Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
- Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
- Perform feasibility studies.
- Prepare schematic designs.
- Design of electrical systems including Ports & Harbors electrification, electric vehicle charging, and building electrical
- Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.
- Participate on project teams in an active production role
- Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
- Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
- Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
- Design lighting selection and controls.
- Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
- Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies using ETAP and/or SKM
- In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)
