Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Product Owner to join our Technology Solutions team. As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the software development process by ensuring that business needs are clearly understood and translated into actionable requirements. You will be a bridge across business, sales, marketing, development, and practice stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality software products. Your responsibilities will include the product vision, maintaining the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of value to the end-users. This is a highly cross-functional role with great opportunity to expand Kimley-Horn’s software business in its next stages of growth.
This is an in office position.
The base salary range for this position is: $95,000-$155,000 depending on experience and location.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, value, strategy, and roadmap
- Monitor product financials and metrics against goals and budget
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
- Develop process flows, and other documentation to support the development and implementation of software features and solutions
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to elicit requirements and gain a deep understanding of stakeholder needs
- Coordinate with marketing, sales, and UX/UI to identify market research, user feedback, and business needs
- Provide support and timely communication to stakeholders, including marketing and sales teams, to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and customer adoption of new software features and solutions
- Participate in product launches including demonstrations and presentations to effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value proposition of our solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of relevant experience in a product owner or business analyst role
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile team
- Self-starter and excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Experience leading teams and mentoring staff
- Effective communicator with emotional intelligence
- Experience working in and communicating about modern SaaS technical solutions
- Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and prospective clients
- Ability to forge strong relationships with clients, partners, and within the team
Preferred:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles
- Familiarity with Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design principles
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
