Overview:
Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated project manager for civil infrastructure (mechanical) to join our growing surface water team in St. Petersburg, FL. The successful candidate specializes in civil and mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management and leading of civil infastructure projects
- Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance
- Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering
- Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project
- Lead and provide support for construction phase efforts on heavy infastructure projects
- Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members
- Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, required
- Professional licensure as a P.E. in Florida
- 8 years of diversified mechanical engineering experience
- Marketing experience including scopes of work, fees and budgets, and schedules
- History of providing technical design and planning in the areas of heavy infastructure work including hydraulic lift systems, electric/drum and cable, etc
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
