Overview
Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join the corporate finance and accounting team in our Raleigh, NC headquarters. We are seeking an energetic individual with strong attention to detail who will act as an integral member of the accounting team. This position will provide support to offices throughout the country. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Ensure a timely and accurate month-end and year end close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Collaborate across teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results
- Prepare and review internal financial reports
- Provide guidance and support to team members
- Seamlessly share responsibilities with teammates
- Review work and that of others for accuracy and relevance
- Research and otherwise assist with ad-hoc special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other relevant major
- CPA required
- Minimum 3 years of public accounting (audit), 5 years of corporate GL/staff accounting, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a multi-entity environment is preferred
- Intermediate level proficiency in Excel
- Proactive and professional approach to responsibilities with an eye toward continual improvement of business processes
- Proven history of effective communication and establishing relationships with internal and external clients
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, seeking to understand the work of others and taking on additional work responsibilities
- Manage workload and stress levels efficiently and professionally
Desired Skills:
- Deltek Costpoint Accounting Software and OneStream CPM software a plus
- GL close / Reconciliation Software
