Housekeeper

Kimpton Alton Hotel is looking for a Housekeeper/Room Attendant to join its Housekeeping Team. We have 245 guest rooms located in the heart of world famous Fisherman's Wharf area in San Francisco, CA. This position will be responsible for the cleanliness of an average of 14 guest rooms per day and will be a member of the UNITE HERE Local 2. Scheduling is affected by business needs as well as seniority (due to Union rules); Being available to work weekends and or holidays is a plus. This is mostly an AM position which usually begins either at 830am or 9am shift for approximately 8 hours. Ideal candidate would have at least 6months of experience working in hotel/resort setting.

Overview:

The Housekeeper will perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness of guest's rooms in an orderly manner. Duties may include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
• Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
• Hang draperies and dust window blinds.
• Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
• Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
• Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets.

Education and Experience:

• Some High School education preferred.
• No prior experience required.
