Job Title: Buyer

Job Summary: Manages all procurement activities for assigned commodities in support of all Kimray business units.
Essential Job Functions:
- Purchases parts, materials, equipment and supplies
- Follows up on purchase orders, verifying availability and delivery dates, prioritizing, scheduling and expediting delivery of materials
- Cultivates and grows supplier relationships
- Ensures that timely order placement, expedites, cancels, rejects and defers are aligned in the MRP system (as needed)
- Collaborate with receiving teams to resolve receiving issues
- Review and approve invoice discrepancies
- Participates in Engineering Change Process
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member
- Participate in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1 – 3 years’ work related experience
- Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Professional in Supply Management or Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred
- Vocational training or technical training preferred
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form
- Capable of effectively presenting information to internal and external groups
- Must have analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills
