Job Description:
Concrete Finishers are responsible for smoothing and finishing of poured concrete floors, slabs, walls, tilt-walls, elevated slabs, and site work (curbs, sidewalks, loading docks, etc.) to specified quality using hand tools or power tools to include floats, trowels, and screeds. Carpenters are responsible for setting and stripping forms and layout. Rodbuster is responsible for placing rebar.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Smooths and finishes surface of poured concrete floors, walls, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
- Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
- Levels, smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge, float, machine trowels, and/or power screed (Riders, Laser screeds).
- Finishes using power trowel; rub and patch concrete to meet quality standards.
- Able to layout and set grade.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities with tools and equipment.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare and set up concrete forms according to project specifications.
- Restore and repair existing concrete surfaces as needed.
- Operate concrete pumping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during the preparation and finishing processes.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including masons and flooring installers, to ensure seamless integration of work.
- Must be able to tie rebar.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in concrete work.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively on-site.
- Ability to perform task outside of form and concrete work.
- Must know how to layout and set grade.
- Must know how to read rebar prints and install rebar.
- Must be able to perform all of the above roles.
