CEI Senior Roadway Inspector

Kinard-Stone, Inc. (KSI) - A 24-year plus established consulting engineering firm is looking for a Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI)/Senior Roadway Inspector(s) to work in the Orlando Florida area. The Inspector will be responsible for conducting on-site inspection of work in progress by the contractor and performing assignments that assist the Project Administrator in the performance of their duties.  

Responsibilities for the Senior Inspector position include but are not limited to:

• Supporting work of Project Managers throughout the course of project cycle

• Supervising and training CEI field inspection staff as needed

• Recording, measuring, and verifying quantities

• Reviewing Request for Payments and Invoices, approval, sign-off

• Maintaining daily logs and field books (electronic or hardcopy) of construction progress, site visitors, problems and resolutions

• Approving construction methods

• Attending (and potentially conducting) progress meetings to discuss status and problems

• Inspecting roadway materials used by the contractor (reviewing confirmation that all materials conform to owner specifications)

• Performing testing of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soils, etc.) as required by owner’s specifications 

• Working to meet and exceed client needs throughout project

• Consulting with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions

• Reporting maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and collaborating to resolve issues

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent & Four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection OR

• Civil Engineering degree & One (1) year of road & bridge CEI experience

• Nuclear Radiation Safety

• DEP Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector

Working Conditions: 

Work is performed in the field. Ability to perform extensive bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, lifting and carrying objects up to 40 lbs. as needed. The majority of work will be conducted outside on various projects with some office work.
