Location

This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada. Please note if you are located in Ottawa you will be expected to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office.

About the team

The Senior HR Business Partner, as a seasoned professional with in-depth experience, is an experienced and trusted advisor to senior leadership teams within an assigned portfolio of business units or functions, helping to build and maintain high-performing teams and a positive workplace culture. The incumbent brings solid strategic talent and HR expertise, and provides advice and coaching to strengthen portfolio leadership team(s) while ensuring portfolio business strategies and goals are effectively enabled by the company’s enterprise-wide talent strategies, employment value proposition and talent programs.

 

The Senior HR Business Partner will drive business success by aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, supporting HR COE efforts and initiatives, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. They will help business leaders foresee challenges using data-driven recommendations for innovative and scalable solutions, as well as iterate on current programs to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience.


About the role

What you will do 

  • Participate in assigned portfolio leadership team(s) as lead talent advisor, identifying people opportunities, talent challenges and gaps, and leveraging key enterprise-wide talent management strategies and programs (e.g., workforce planning, forecasting, succession, performance effectiveness, high potential and leader development, and total rewards) to meet strategic business and talent objectives.
  • Accountable for the execution and delivery of key talent management programs within a portfolio (e.g. portfolio based talent review, portfolio based succession planning) and working in partnership with the Talent Management & Total Rewards team to drive talent programs and initiatives within the assigned portfolio
  • Facilitate collaborative discussion; provide executive coaching and advice to ensure business leaders understand and address the talent implications of business strategies and decisions.
  • Act as a cultural advocate and ensure leaders are fully aligned to and live the Kinaxis core values
  • Understand the business perspective of the portfolio and its components including current investments, focus, and challenges to continually link business and people strategies
  • Be a champion for delivering Kinaxis’s enterprise-wide talent strategies and employment value proposition, partnering across Kinaxis HR to provide feedback during design, and support rollout of global talent initiatives.
  • Play an active role in supporting and leading change initiatives within assigned portfolio and contributing to large change initiative planning
  • Partner with leadership to ensure scalable growth for assigned client group(s) ensuring team structural models drive organizational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence and the HR Services Hub to strive for seamlessly integrated service delivery across all HR customer groups
  • Participate in HR integrations and coach leaders on the consistent application of people processes, practices, and policies, providing advice and guidance on embedding these across the full employee life cycle
  • Partner with Employee Relations and Manager Support to lead and support in performance management, employee relations, and investigations
  • Analyze people reports, dashboards, and datasets to make quality, data-driven insights, recommendations, and decisions

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner supporting global teams in high growth companies, preferably in the technology sector
  • Skilled in managing multiple complex projects and changes that have organizational impact
  • Results oriented with experience providing detailed content/presentations for consumption at senior levels
  • An articulate and professional communicator with the ability to provide clear, concise messaging (verbal and written) to multiple audiences and platforms and present information in a way that engages the listener at the appropriate level.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to coordinate input from multiple sources to develop impactful recommendations to achieve results for the business.
  • Agile and adaptable; excels at managing and prioritizing workloads in an environment of ongoing urgency, ambiguity, and change.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach; high executive presence
  • Experience balancing competing priorities and conflicting opinions in order to facilitate the best decisions for employees and the business in an environment of ambiguity and rapid change
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the talent implications of strategic and operating business decisions and provide input to planning for the future
  • Highly effective at receiving and communicating feedback, and supporting the development of an open, honest and collaborative team environment
  • Experience partnering with HR Centres of Excellence in developing, enhancing, and implementing global enterprise-wide talent programs
  • Experience with communication and change management within the context of developing and implementing talent programs, policies and processes
  • Highly collaborative with effective relationship building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience helping organizations scale and grow
