Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting in various veterinary procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as prescribed.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Manage kennel duties, including cleaning and maintaining animal living spaces.
- Prepare animals for X-Ray procedures and assist in imaging processes.
- Provide basic training and handling for dogs to ensure their comfort during visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal care practices, including equine handling.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
