Crane Operator

Position Description

Successfully operate waterside cranes to discharge cargo from vessels to shore. Maintain and repair the cranes as trained and instructed.

Position Requirements

• Ø Safely and efficiently operate cranes and related gear to transfer cargo from vessel to shore.
• Ø Effectively coordinate with vessel personnel, complete required documentation and reports related to cargo transfer.
• Ø May act as an assigned leader for other marine employees.
• Ø Participate as trained and instructed in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of cranes, gear and related equipment.
• Ø May be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals.
• Ø Refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety and environmental as required.
• Ø Housekeeping and general maintenance as required.
  
  

Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor.

• Ø Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ø Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
• Ø Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment
• Ø Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records
  
  

Must have the ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
