Our terminals transload and store liquid commodities including petroleum products, ethanol and chemicals, and bulk products, including petroleum coke, metals and ores.Position Description : This position is located within the Procurement and Administration department in the Strategic Sourcing group.The successful candidate will support strategic sourcing activities, programs, and manage categories.Categories managed in the strategic sourcing Direct Materials and Services group and the Shared Services group include but are not limited to Environmental, HR, IT, Facilities, Compression, Pipeline Integrity, Tank Services and other categories.Job Duties : Lead multi-functional stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives or projects.Implement, manage, and maintain strategic sourcing programs for assigned categories.Oversee end-to-end sourcing process : strategy, market analysis, negotiation process, supplier selection, contract lifecycle management.Contract negotiation and contract lifecycle management skills, with an ability to work off company template contracts and vendor contracts.Apply understanding of Kinder Morgan business needs to the development and execution of sourcing initiatives.Create and present strategy and results to all levels of leadership.Support suppliers and internal customers for issues / questions for assigned categories.Analyze spend data and industry dynamics from multiple sources to support sourcing initiatives and category management.Develop and execute negotiating strategies using cost models, contract knowledge, risk awareness and market intelligence to establish acceptable negotiation boundaries.Monitor, interpret and leverage market intelligence data to formulate sourcing and negotiation strategies.Gain consensus on acceptable risk levels and contract language with all stakeholders including Legal, Risk, EHS and Business Unit leadership.Job level will be commensurate with experience and knowledge.Position RequirementsEducation : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline is preferredLegal experience is a plusMinimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing / procurement environment is preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in a purchasing / procurement environment required in lieu of a Bachelor’s degreeSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIESFamiliar with industry and related commoditiesStrong interpersonal skills and capable of building strong relationships with internal customers and vendorsStrong analytical, problem solving and time management skillsAble to work in a team and take direction from leadershipLeadership skills and ability to work independently as neededStrong communication (written and oral), presentation and organization skillsMaintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees and the general publicProficient in Microsoft applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointExperience with SharePoint, Contract Management and ERP systemsKinder Morgan Offers : Competitive Wages401(k) Savings PlanRetirement PlanComprehensive Medical / Rx and Dental PlansPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysBonus ProgramPaid Bus Pass or Garage ParkingEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT : We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
