We are seeking a Principal Workday Payroll Analyst who is passionate about cloud-based data-reporting operations that integrate and optimize the essential functions of Payroll. Responsibilities:
- Support all functions of the Payroll workstream, including regular and special payroll processes, year-end reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Research and resolve sophisticated Workday Payroll issues, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure process integrity.
- Monitor, evaluate, and recommend changes to optimize payroll processes, demonstrating technology updates and collaborator input.
- Develop and complete testing strategies, validate system configuration changes, and document Workday business process modifications.
- Partner with the Senior Payroll Tax Analyst, serve as a technical point of contact for functional areas, support subject matter experts, and advise management of recurring issues or training needs.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes within Workday, including full-cycle payroll processing and settlements.
- Experience with payroll tax regulations, balancing W-2s, taxable wages, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Proven understanding of payroll policies, wage laws, and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
- Proficiency in using ADP Smart Compliance for payroll tax processing and compliance management.
- Ability to provide payroll-related mentorship to teams, ensuring standard processes while optimally communicating with collaborators.
- Strong analytical skills to identify payroll issues, recommend improvements and implement solutions.
