Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, medical-surgical units, outpatient care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, teaching hospitals, operating rooms (OR), pediatric intensive care units (PICU), and inpatient care.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding client needs and changes in condition.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in personal care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare settings such as Level I Trauma Centers, medical-surgical units, outpatient facilities, emergency medicine, geriatrics, teaching hospitals, ORs, PICUs, or inpatient care is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
- Must be able to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
