ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates Auto or Semi-Auto Packaging equipment and pallet jack and Standup forklift. Completes In-process audits, equipment challenges, troubleshooting of all equipment issues and changeovers to achieve shift target.
- Follows the escalation process; sets goal to minimize equipment down time per established targets.
- Works closely with maintenance personnel and Engineering to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems to improve OEE.
- Must be qualified to use respirator, or Versaflo.
- Familiar with D365 to complete all the required training.
- In accordance with Safety and NRSOP's, GMP's and Pkg Standards, cleans, maintains, sets up and adjusts all packaging machinery.
- Adjusts as necessary to packaging equipment to ensure finished product quality conformance.
- Complete Setups and changeovers to where there is minimal troubleshooting to get the line running
- Records information on reconciliation, manufacturing orders, changes logbooks, labels, etc., in accordance with NRSOPs, GMP, and good documentation practice requirements. Ensuring the appropriate materials are checked- in to the lot.
- Checks and verifies count of material delivered to lines by warehouse personnel and label vault prior to line startup
- Counts and prepares returns to warehouse and if needed to the label vault at conclusion of run. Prepares pallets of finished goods for transfer to warehouse using D365.
- Schedules job assignments on the lines, ensuring all coverage for the line is complete and updates daily on the tier 1 board and participates.
- Monitors line operations continuously. May need to assist on more than one line at a time for troubleshooting purposes.
- Performs all department operations consistently at standard cost and quality levels and has sufficient knowledge of job duties to function as SME for training purposes when needed.
- Becomes qualified in job performance by completing all modules required.
- Gives and accepts constructive feedback. Provide unbiased input on performance of operators and contract workers.
- Knows and uses good safety practices and takes ownership for running a safe operation.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and specific cleaning of the area.
- Performs specific equipment and facility cleaning procedures in accordance with NRSOP's and GMP's.
- Recognizes quality improvement opportunities that apply to area. Sets error free goals and works for successful completion of those goals.
- Follows procedures for Vorne usage on the line knows the appropriate barcode for each piece of equipment and for lunches and breaks.
- When required, may cover for and/or relieve operators on the packaging line.
- Performs material handling operations as required.
- Functions as the SME packaging technician for training purposes for all the required packaging equipment.
- As required, participates in engineering equipment and process improvement projects.
- May be required to temporarily change shifts, work mandatory overtime or to help in other sections/departments in IDD and to attend overtime meetings.
- Takes the initiative to help when required or needed within the total production operation.
- Hazardous Waste duties, including handling or processing hazardous waste.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED and 12 to 15 months of
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail is essential.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; able to read, write legibly, understand, and communicate in English.
- Must become qualified in job performance within the specified amount of time allowed.
- Uses a calculator and has good basic math skills including metric conversions and percentages.
- Excellent teamwork & inter-personal skills, able to effectively communicate process and equipment information to co-workers and FOT management when needed.
- Physical effort involves lifting 25-65 lbs. (latter on occasion)
- Good mechanical skills to ensure that packaging equipment is operating per established standards and procedures.
- Time management; plans daily tasks for an efficient operation and the effective use of resources.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
