The Impact You Will Make
The Inventory and Purchasing Specialist will support the Analytical and Development Services organization with the control, monitoring, ordering and stocking of consumable supplies and materials as part of the Global Lab Services group. This role will understand inventory requirements and purchasing needs to work with vendors / suppliers to ensure timely distribution of necessary inventory. This role will also work with our business owners for purchasing and inventory management to ensure the needs of Analytical and Development Services are met in a compliant and efficient manner.
This role reports to the Director, Global Lab Supply Chain

Supports the creation, execution and maintenance of an inventory management system for Analytical and Development ServicesSupports the creation of appropriate SOPs and WIs for effectively managing inventoryForecast and Inventory Management
Work with the Director, Lab Supply Chain to understand the forecast and demands of services to ensure appropriate stock level of consumables and materialsReceive and document consumable inventory and materials as they are brought into the buildingSet up and manage stock quantities in the designated stock roomSet up regular physical inventories to ensure accurate recording and tracking of inventoryWork closely with Lab Operations to understand purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery from suppliersCreate requisition for the purchase of consumables and materialsSOPs
Follow all SOP and financial requirements for the request and purchasing of consumablesEnsure safe practices in the receipt, handling and storage of various consumables and materials including flammables and hazardous materialsContinuously improve inventory management processes and log lessons learned to share key learning and insights within the organization in support of collective knowledge bases.KPIs
Actively participate in quarterly business review meetings with suppliersMonitor and provide updates on purchases to ensure timely deliveries.Escalate and resolve delays or discrepancies in purchased items as necessarySupplier Selection and Business Reviews
Actively participate in business reviewsEnsure the right mix of suppliers to support current and future business needsObtain information on supplier capabilities, supply chain and their risk mitigation strategiesCost Savings
Work with the Global Lab Supply Chain Team to create a sustainable long term cost savings portfolioOther responsibilities as assigned which might include responsibilities for another siteRequirements :
Bachelor's Degree (supply chain or business management discipline is preferred but not essential)Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or chemical industryKnowledge / experience of pharmaceutical productsGood Pharma or chemical material knowledgeStrong knowledge and awareness of GMP and DEA practicesCross functional team experienceSystem Experience : Familiarity with D365, LIMS, MasterControl, SAPOther Skills : Microsoft Office Suite including strong communication skillsLI-Onsite
