The Impact You Will Make: As a Microbiologist I, you will play an essential role in protecting product quality and ensuring a contamination-free environment. Your daily work will directly support the safety and reliability of our pharmaceutical products through environmental monitoring and microbiological testing. By mastering aseptic techniques and partnering closely with experienced professionals, you will help maintain high laboratory standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a strong foundation in microbiological quality control. Responsibilities:
Performs environmental monitoring functions such as surface bioburden, airborne bioburden, and airborne particle monitoring, as well as monitoring of purified water and utilities
Identifies technical or system issues and brings them to the appropriate personnel for resolution
Ensures the lab is maintained and fully supplied with routine materials needed for testing
Performs general microscopy and plate enumeration
Executes a variety of basic microbiological testing as assigned (i.e. membrane filtration, dilutions, basic staining, growth promotion testing, plate enumeration, morphological assessment)
Demonstrates basic aseptic technique
Thoroughly documents all activities and reviews all paperwork to ensure accuracy prior to submission for peer review
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related field
0-2 years GMP laboratory experience
Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Good verbal & written communication skills
Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment
Qualified to work with controlled substances
Fundamental background in Aseptic Technique, Environmental and Utilities Monitoring
Physical Requirements:
Specific vison requirements include; close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust and focus in order to read/understand/execute documentation as required by the position
Employee are required to follow all cGMP and safety procedures.
The employee must wear all required safety equipment and perform assigned work in a safe manner.
Employee must use proper lifting techniques and be conscious of hazards around him/her.
Must follow all GMP and safety procedures within the department.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
