ROLE SUMMARY
The person hired for the position of Senior Maintenance Manager will be a key resource for the Kindeva Northridge manufacturing plant. This individual will be responsible for supervising the maintenance and facilities department with the focus on improving equipment reliability. The position also will manage the site Janitorial Services.
ESSENTIAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct supervision to assigned employees through visible leadership, coaching and training. Provide work direction for team to optimize resource utilization.
Successfully lead= a 24/7 operations team through positive reinforcement, accountability, and performance management as needed.
Demonstrated ability to understand and enforce corporate and local policies and procedures and ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and laws.
Responsible for leading a team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing, or arranging for repairs of equipment/systems to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of highly automated filling and packaging equipment, plant utilities systems, and janitorial services.
Develop pragmatic, fiscally responsible and responsive action plans, resolving issues efficiently through identification and assessment of root causes.
Ensure appropriate use of maintenance record systems to contribute to efficiency of operations, accuracy of procedures, and accuracy of maintenance time allocation.
Develop, review, and revise standard operating policies and procedures related to equipment/systems maintenance.
Oversees the production equipment spare parts warehouse and ensure availability of the spare parts.
Oversees the Janitorial Services, to provide cleaning and sanitation services to the offices and product manufacturing facility.
Oversees the maintenance and operation of the plant utility services.
Oversees the calibration department to maintain the manufacturing equipment current state of calibration.
Oversees audits for quality and safety of the Maintenance activities. Creates a plan of action to address deficiencies and optimize performance.
Coordinates contractor, and management approvals for work orders that require the use of an outside contractor. Manages the outsourced site services (such as pest control, waste handling, building maintenance, and landscape) and ensures compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
Drive Preventative Maintenance (PM) on time completion process for the site.
Evaluate equipment and maintenance history to determine and establish appropriate preventive maintenance requirements, and/or to recommend predictive maintenance programs for optimizing effectiveness of maintenance procedures and maximizing equipment reliability.
Act as liaison for Corrective Maintenance (CM) action item updates and coordinate resource allocation to manage CM backlog.
Utilize Six Sigma and statistical tools for improving processes.
Utilize Lean Manufacturing to reduce waste.
Basic Qualifications:
Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Minimum Fifteen (15) years of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, and/or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Minimum Ten (10) years supervision experience in a private, public, government or military environment successfully managing maintenance and/or facilities departments or teams.
In depth knowledge of maintenance practices as well as manufacturing and facilities equipment.
Experience utilizing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum Fifteen (15) years of Maintenance or Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Minimum Ten (10) years maintenance supervision experience in a private, public, government or military environment
In depth knowledge of maintenance practices (mechanical and electrical) as well as manufacturing and facilities equipment
Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to Plant Engineering
Experience implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
Training and experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology
Excellent interpersonal skills, with effective communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage different priorities
Self-directed mindset that leads with high energy and works with minimal supervision or guidance
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, remain flexible to changes, and respond with a sense of urgency
