Overview:
Kindle Energy LLC (“Kindle”) specializes in the management, optimization, and development of power generation in the United States and Canada and is a portfolio company of The Blackstone Group. Blackstone is a leading global alternative asset manager with more than $1 trillion of total assets under management. Currently, Kindle manages 5 GWs of generation in Ohio, and Indiana, with a 700 MW CCGT project and 164 MW SCGT under construction in Louisiana and Colorado respectively.
This new role in the CFO organization will analyze power industry transactions to optimize revenues, scrutinize expenses and ensure and confirm adherence to Kindle's commercial contracts. The position will be based in Princeton, New Jersey with a hybrid work schedule of Tuesday thru Thursday in the office and Monday and Friday remote work from the employee’s home office.
Responsibilities:
- Settlement, recording and reporting of bilateral and Independent System Operator (ISO) energy transactions in various energy markets including PJM, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, CAISO, SPP and NYISO as well as gas/coal/RGGI settlements
- Verify accuracy of deal capture system to counterparty confirms for power, gas and capacity transactions and calculate short-term and long-term mark to market of transactions
- Responsible for review of daily/weekly/monthly ISO invoices and hedge settlements
- Responsible for cost recovery for black start and voltage support
- Responsible for tracking and reporting monthly WACOG for fuel inventory including accrual for gas balancing inventory, gas/coal storage inventory
- Reconcile assigned deals, research discrepancies and resolve differences with ISO’s and counterparties
- Verify and review all open AR and AP prior to month end to ensure prompt payment to and from counterparties
- Responsible for month end close activities performing review of estimates and calculation of plant level actuals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related degree
- Power industry experience required; PJM/MISO experience a plus
- 4 years of settlement experience
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Must be self-motivated
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
