Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Provide proper restraint for animals during treatments and examinations.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any changes to the veterinary team.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and husbandry practices.
- Assist with the intake of animals, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Kennel management and animal care practices.
- Animal catheterization techniques.
- Animal restraint methods to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
- Understanding of veterinary critical care protocols.
- General knowledge of animal anatomy and husbandry practices.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated individuals eager to learn.
