Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Accounting Manager at Kindred Accounting Services. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for reviewing financial statements prepared by bookkeepers, ensuring accuracy, and providing insights to improve financial processes. This role is key in maintaining the integrity of our clients’ financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. While the role is primarily located in Sparks Glencoe, MD, some remote work is also acceptable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, prepared by bookkeepers.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Identify discrepancies and provide guidance to bookkeepers to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and provide customized solutions.
- Monitor and improve internal controls and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing financial reports for management and client presentations.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Mentor and support bookkeepers to ensure consistent quality in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification (or working toward it) a plus.
- QBO (QuickBooks Online) Certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with QuickBooks software (both Online and Desktop versions).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
