Craft Worker-Plant Ops/Maint

JOB SUMMARY
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed. Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
• Inspects, tests, and maintains records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.
• Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.
• Assists in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
• A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge and is able to identify each patient's age specific needs to promote a safe environment needed by a patient group.

ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Completes annual education, OSHA, and infection control requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Complies with all organizational policies. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• Three to six (3-6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
  experience preferred.

  able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Must possess good communication skills.
• Must be able to fulfill the job requirements of minimal lifting and pulling.
• Be knowledgeable and competent in infection control responsibilities.

Certifications:

• Handle with Care required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.
• Valid driver's license.
