The Bradley Center of St. Francis-Emory Healthcare is hiring a Mental Health Technician nights to work in our growing psychiatric unit. Our Mental Health Tech's are responsible for the following duties:
- Provides support to mental healthcare professionals
- Observe and report information about patient behavior to the medical staff, including mood swings and the wellbeing of their patients
- Listen to patients' concerns, observe their behavior, and record their condition . Lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities
- Under direct supervision, provides child, adolescent, or adult patient supervision
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness
- Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention if needed
- Charts patient observations, following prescribed procedures and standards
- Participates in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs
- Maintains confidentiality of patient records
- Transport patients to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments, as and when appropriate
- Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education, and staff meetings

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Two (2) years of collegiate coursework to include general psychology, interpersonal communication, abnormal psychology, and/or human growth and development preferred
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire
Minimum Work Experience
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a busy environment and take appropriate action when needed
