Transporter Role
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
Delivers equipment and specimens to requested staff or department.
Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
Identifies patient by using two (2) accepted methods of identification.
Transports patients, including any medical equipment, via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested.
Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
Applies principles infection control procedures.
Consults with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care.
Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare.
Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent, preferred
Required Licenses:

Required Certifications:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Certification in Non-Violent De-Escalation & Crisis Intervention Training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Patient Lift training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
