Psych RN (Nights) – Glens Falls, NY
Location: Glens Falls, NY
Job Type: 13-Week Travel Assignment
Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) | 36 hrs/week
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Psych / Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) experience (Required)
- Experience with Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult patients (Required)
- Recent travel nursing experience
- EPIC EMR experience (Required)
- De-escalation training (Required) – CPI or Welle
- Reliable attendance & no call-outs – highly patient-oriented unit
- Own vehicle required (Firm Requirement)
Job Responsibilities:
- Care for Adult & Geriatric psychiatric patients (Average census: 20 patients)
- RN-to-patient ratio: 1:9 (varies by census)
- Work in a locked 30-bed inpatient Behavioral Health Unit
- De-escalate agitated patients effectively
- Collaborate with Behavioral Health Techs, Hospital Supervisors, and On-Call Psychiatrists
Scheduling & Benefits:
- Every other weekend & holiday rotation required
- Facility can cancel up to 5 shifts per 13-week contract (2-hr notice required)
- Dress Code: Personal scrubs (any color, NO designs/cartoons/hoodies)
