We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager join and lead our newly formed Developer Experience team. This high-impact role will play a key part in shaping the engineering organization by influencing architecture, design, and developer tools for our engineering teams. As a small, agile team with a game-changing mindset and a passion for maximizing developer productivity, we work like a startup, but with the resources needed to achieve our goals.

Leading this team offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact our SDLC process, tools, systems, and ultimately, our business and customers. You’ll be expected to deliver quickly and iteratively in an AGILE environment, while mentoring and guiding your team as they build a cutting-edge platform to disrupt the future of work.
This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA, with a hybrid schedule of 3-days in-office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of top-tier software engineers to execute our technology vision and strategy.
- Recruit exceptional talent to join the team, while mentoring and developing high-potential leaders within the organization.
- Collaborate with product management and other leaders to align on business drivers and the competitive landscape, helping define product development strategies and priorities.
- Stay ahead of technological trends, exploring innovative ways to incorporate them into future products and technology.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using data-driven metrics to enhance execution and quality.
- Ensure effective collaboration across teams and locations, maintaining alignment on multiple strategic initiatives.
- Navigate organizational changes and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on international engineering trends and leadership.
- Work closely with the SRE and Security Engineering teams to ensure observability, stability, performance, and security of all products and technologies.
- Flexibility to work across both front-end and back-end technologies, including TypeScript, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Postgres, and Python.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- 5 years of leadership experience in product development with hands-on experience.
- Proven history of building and delivering high-quality, scalable SaaS products and platforms.
- A passion for adopting modern software development practices that promote creativity, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Hands-on experience with key technology patterns, such as authentication/authorization systems, single-page applications, API frameworks (REST, GraphQL), persistence stores, and real-time messaging frameworks on public cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
- Experience managing geographically and culturally diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and frequently across the organization to drive product adoption.
- Experience managing budgets, balancing priorities, and making data-driven decisions.
