GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is currently a "Limited Term Position - 3-6 months". In this position you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair in Kinecta Federal Credit Union Member Service Centers (MSC), Main Office and Operations Center, Mortgage Service Centers and Apollo buildings.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position works with a minimal amount of supervision and direction from the Facilities Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Visits Member Service Centers, Main Office, Operations Center, Mortgage Service Centers and Apollo to perform preventative maintenance as it pertains to plumbing, lighting, time clocks, furniture repairs, HVAC, electrical, fire life safety and carpentry.
- Possesses the ability to assess facilities issues as they arise in the Kinecta facilities.
- Performs minor building repairs such as wall patching, replacing door closers, repair or installation of door locks or AC repairs at Member Service Centers, Main Office and Operations Center as needed.
- Moves boxes and furniture as needed
- Repairs and replaces building hardware as required
- Supports company-sponsored events that take place during the week or on occasion after hours or on weekends, as requested.
- Develops a good working relationship with the MSC Managers to ensure that all maintenance issues are addressed.
- Partners with Sr. Engineer for assistance with detail technical tasks.
- Works closely with Facilities Coordinator to obtain schedule and work orders.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other duties including special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Expertise and practice safe use of hand tools such as hammer, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches, level, and electrical tools; use of ladder and hand carts.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to interact with staff at all level, members and others encountered in the course of work.
- Ability to learn and apply new information or skills.
Education, Training and Experience:
Potential candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:
- 2-year degree in relevant field or Vocational / Specialized Training. Combination of experience and education is acceptable.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in a Facilities Department performing maintenance tasks in an office environment.
- Must have a current driver's license and be able to drive a pickup truck, van and on occasion a larger truck.
One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
- The job may require flexibility with regards to scheduling days, hours, and work location, depending on business needs.
- May require standing and walking up to 75% of the work time to transfer files, ask questions, and related activities.
Must be able to exercise sound judgment, effectively plan and be well organized, have excellent oral and written communications skills, work well under changing timelines, take the initiative and be flexible and cooperative. Accuracy, timeliness and maintaining confidentiality related to member, employee information and company records is required.
While performing the job duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; lift minimum 50 lbs.
The employee is frequently required to walk and stand. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus to read and operate office equipment, as necessary. The employee works under typical office conditions and noise levels.
