Job Position Summary: Junior Process Engineer is responsible for the process design, operation, and implementation of manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be able to improve manufacturing processes to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.
The role requires strong analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards, follow safety culture, and wear PPE when required.
- Create, configure, and optimize manufacturing processes from inception through to start up and certification.
- Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data.
- Gather, organize, and distribute data as required by process.
- Support any in-process issues on shop floor.
- Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
- Drive Continuous Improvements increasing productivity, cost-savings within existing processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years' shop floor machining experience.
- 3-5 years' NX CAD/CAM experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and knowledge of GD&T.
- Knowledge of process-related standards.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, outside processes, and inspection methods.
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Strong computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or higher in related field preferred.
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
