Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
- Reviews work orders for accuracy and completion with Heat Treat Manger to determine pricing strategies
- Inspects parts for hardness and conductivity requirements.
- Performs quality audits using current audit sheets.
- Performs 6S internal Audit.
- Nonconformances, corrective actions, MRB and Nadcap audits
- Reviews all specification for the latest revisions
- Reviews all certifications
- Maintain Thermocouples required for all furnaces
- Reviews and verifies logbooks compliance on furnaces
- Maintains the gage track system
- Reviews and verifies weekly SAT's, PM's, Tus, and instrument calibration reports
- Handles day to day quality issues and works with Heat Treat Manager to develop business improvements and strategies to meet sales goals and achieve the business plan
- Notifies customers of job completion and pickup
- Follows up on questions concerning jobs with the support of the Heat Treat Manger
- Ensure inspection records are kept and properly completed to assure compliance to ISO9001/AS9100 requirements.
- Reviews and scans work orders into the system.
- Follow 6s Procedures and maintains a clean organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in quality auditing and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to read engineering drawings/documents as well as understand revision/configuration control.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, AS9100 and ISO9001
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with and ability to operate inspection, test and measuring equipment
- Ability to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task,
- Ability to effectively communicate with fellow employees and customers
- Time Management Skills to meet the demand of the customer
- Organizational skills to keep work and area organized.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
- Must have ability to read applicable customer/B&E documents with or without corrective lenses.
- Must be able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
