Job Overview
The Clinical Patient Safety Manager is a key leader dedicated to enhancing patient safety and mitigating risks in a dynamic acute care hospital setting. Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing patient safety initiatives. The manager will analyze data, train staff, and drive a culture of safety across the organization, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Safety Programs: Develop and implement patient safety strategies, systems, and initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Monitor, evaluate, and interpret patient safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Incident Management: Investigate patient safety events, root causes, and near-misses. Develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Staff Education: Lead training sessions to promote awareness of patient safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaboration: Partner with hospital leadership to foster a culture of accountability and safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety-related regulations and standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Active California Fire and Life Safety Card (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification.
- 2 years of direct patient safety experience.
