Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The I&E Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all plannable I&E maintenance work activities across the company as well as providing an accounting of unplanned I&E work activities. Coordinate maintenance personnel and available resources to help ensure work gets done in a timely manner. Works closely with Area I&E Supervisors, Maintenance Planner/Scheduler and operations personnel to optimize I&E work plans/schedules in order to minimize impact to throughput and daily operations while facilitating the achievement of maintenance goals.
Primary duties-
Works closely with Maintenance Planner/ scheduler and craft supervisors to prepare timely preventive maintenance schedules that are aligned with the organization’s maintenance goals.
Assists and supports the I&E Director and Area I&E Supervisors regarding all maintenance activities.
Works efficiently within the company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage W.O. status, W.O. group/area assignment, and the overall I&E work backlog.
Coordinates with the I&E Director, Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Warehouse personnel and craft Supervisors to develop accurate and efficient PM W.O.s, accurate and comprehensive equipment assets, thorough job plans, good maintenance records/forms and accurate parts lists.
Prepares reports providing analysis of scheduled work attainment and unplanned break-in work.
Works closely with I&E Director and I&E Supervisors to evaluate PM W.O.s in regard to but not limited to the following- correct interval, efficient use of time (redundancy, coordination of equipment downtime with other crafts or project schedules), estimated hours are correct, description is complete and correct, maintenance records/forms attached, job plan provided etc.
Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management.
Works with Engineering and Construction to add new equipment into the CMMS with
Identifies areas of the workflow process needing improvement and makes suggestions and works with company personnel to implement solutions.
Actively evaluates W.O.s and job plans, to assist I&E Area Supervisors in identifying barriers to the successful completion of work for example- permits, PSM/PSSR, DOT compliance requirements, craft personnel skill sets, parts/materials deficiency, notification of other departments or third parties, one calls, etc.
Responsible for communicating with affected parties any changes to the planned work schedule.
Responsible for providing coverage of job responsibilities during PTO or other leaves of absence.
Facilitates and may lead meetings related to planning/scheduling/CMMS as needed.
Responsible for developing a high level of proficiency with the company’s CMMS system and with keeping up with issues and changes to the system.
Assists with training others on the CMMS system and is an overall advocate for the maintenance process.
Works closely with warehouse supervisor and craft personnel to identify parts and materials for procurement and storage at company warehouse.
Supports company objectives related to material standardization and preferred vendor utilization.
Other Duties-
Provides costs estimates as needed for budgetary planning.
May participate in project meetings.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, follows prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Possess and maintain a valid driver license.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial maintenance with a strong background in electrical and controls systems.
Experience working with CMMS and/or previous planner/scheduler position is preferred
High school diploma or GED is required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Must be able to travel extensively to locations within his/her area of responsibility.
Must be able and willing to work long hours as required.
