Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
OT Field Technician responsibilities include performing work required in connection with the maintenance, repair, testing, installation, monitoring, and servicing of all types of service provisioning equipment providing data and communications systems. Work includes but is not limited to technologies/protocols such as Fiber optic backbone and distribution systems, LTE/ licensed-unlicensed wireless systems, point-to-point/point-to-multipoint radio networks, carrier-class ethernet Switch/Routers, TCP/IP, Ethernet equipment, and connecting telecommunications interfaces.
Provide construction, operation & maintenance of communication lines, wireless data, fiber optic data lines, wireless tower lines and wireless services.
Responsible for installation and maintenance of network equipment and configuration of various devices.
Interpret network drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and implement design parameters as specified.
Install and troubleshoot fiber, voice, and data circuits utilizing appropriate test equipment.
Demonstrate exceptional communications, customer service, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Use tools necessary to perform job duties effectively, efficiently and safely.
Work independently in remote locations with weather extremes found in West Texas locations
Install, maintain and troubleshoot emergency power systems to include battery plants, solar-battery setups, and back-up generators
Terminate, splice and test fiber optic cables utilizing appropriate equipment.
Perform site surveys for upgrades and new installations of fiber optic / wireless services. Determine material lists and quantify labor hours needed to formulate competitive sales proposals.
Monitor network for equipment alarms and adverse trends to proactively prevent network outages
Perform all duties in accordance with all applicable OSHA and FCC safety guidelines
Identify potential on the job safety hazards and reports to supervisor as appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities
All other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology preferred.
Minimum of 2 years related work experience in ICS, SCADA, or 4 years in networking and telecommunications.
Strong proficiency in designing and troubleshooting communication networks, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and wireless technologies.
knowledge of cybersecurity principles, methodologies, and best practices for OT environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Working Conditions:
90% travel expectations to Kinetik plants and worksites.
Available outside of normal working hours as needed for business necessity
Driving on a daily basis, requiring a valid driver's license and ability to drive safely in different types of weather conditions to various locations.
Will be working outdoors in adverse and/or extreme weather conditions.
Works in temperature extremes due to both weather conditions and operating equipment.
Will be working in conditions where frequent loud noises occur.
Will be working in areas where hazardous materials require the prolonged wearing of PPE.
Will be required to frequently drive to other field facilities within their assigned region.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Ability to work effectively in all working conditions noted above.
The physical demands of this position require standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, walking, and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to climb and work at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position
Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Subject to 24-hour call out 7 days per week and possible extended workdays.
