Job Summary:

Are you a talented scratch baker and cake decorator looking to expand your skills? Kinfolks Desert Shop is looking for you for our Lakewood Park location at 7319 Indrio Road Suite 4 Fort Pierce, FL 34951! We are looking for a professional baker to join our team. As the baker, you would be responsible for a variety of roles from cake baking, cake decorating and assorted desert production for various restaurants in support of the operational enterprise.

Bakers are responsible for delivering great customers experiences. They prepare products according to operational and quality standards and serve them with enthusiasm in a clean environment. They work as part of a team to meet our customers’ needs and give them a reason to come back.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing baked goods.
• Assist managing inventory of baked items.
• Cleaning duties to ensure the kitchen and dishes are cleaned and sanitized properly.
• Ensure freshness of deserts by storing them appropriately
• Comply with health and safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by operations manager.
• Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items, including cakes, puddings, treats, and cookies.
• Follow recipes and measurements to ensure consistency and quality of baked goods.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and baking supplies.
• Monitor baking process to ensure proper temperature and cooking times.
• Decorate and present baked goods in an appealing manner.
• Collaborate with other restaurant staff to coordinate baking orders and production needs.
• Prepare bulk prepping items such as: whole cakes, large orders cupcakes, assembling multi-layer desserts, baking custards, etc.
• Monitoring online ordering platforms and catering orders.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Knowledge of different types of flours, ingredients, and baking techniques
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, including knives and mixers.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
• Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines.
• Candidates with baking, pastry and decorating experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Someone who loves baking, or at least appreciate it and are eager to learn more.
• Eager to learn and try new things.
• Enjoy working with your hands to create products, and don't mind getting your hands dirty maintaining the environment necessary to do so.
