What are the responsibilities and job description for the Draft Technician position at King Beverage Inc?
Purpose of position:
- To provide draft system equipment install, maintenance, and service to on-premise customers of King Beverage Inc.
- Repair Signage & POS.
- Assistant for special events setup and teardown.
- Provide ongoing preventative maintenance for all warehouse equipment, delivery and admin vehicles at Spokane warehouse.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Consult with on-premise accounts to deliver the most optimal draft beer system for their needs.
- Responsible for all bids, installation, troubleshooting, and service/maintenance of draft equipment.
- Field phone calls from customers for service and install needs.
- Repair of draft lines by observing the mechanical devices in operation and locating root cause of issues.
- Dismantles taps/devices to gain access to remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect potential issues.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts such as taps, washers, hose lines as necessary. Installs functional and structurally sound parts. Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Testing of systems for proper performance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs that have taken place at each customer account.
- Responsible for the delivery, set-up, and takedown of draft equipment at special events throughout the year.
- Responsible for all parts, equipment, and tools used to complete jobs.
- Educating on-premise customer accounts on proper draft system cleaning measures.
- Responsible for verifying all customer complaints on draft beer such as taste, defective kegs and out-of-date product. This information is then shared with the person in charge of getting credit or reimbursed by ABI.
- Preventive maintenance on all warehouse equipment to include the following; forklifts, end-rider pallet jacks, walkie pallet jacks, hand trucks, Zamboni floor scrubber, and scissor lift.
- Assist in scheduling all delivery truck annual DOT inspections/oil changes based on mileage.
- Replace delivery truck headlights/turn signals/running lights/wiper blades as well as Teflon plates on trailers.
- Schedule all repair and warranty work needed on all Spokane delivery trucks and trailers. Work with Les Schwab on tire inspections and schedule tire replacements as needed, as well as track the recap trailer tires Les Schwab stores for KBI.
- Coordinate repair/maintenance needs for Spokane Admin vehicles as needed. This includes tire rotations and the installation of snow tires and regular tires needed for the different seasons.
- Maintain and repair all shrink wrap machines.
- Assembly of office furniture as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
- Reliability with strong follow-through on communication.
Physical Requirements:
Lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. seldomly. Push/pull 160 lb. kegs occasionally.
Required to regularly stand, walk, lift product floor to waist, shoulder to overhead, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
