Job Description:
The Packaging Manager will oversee all packaging operations, ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and meeting production targets. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Supervise, train, and manage the packaging team, ensuring productivity and adherence to company standards.
Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and open communication.
Packaging Operations:
Oversee daily packaging operations to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Monitor and optimize workflows to meet production deadlines and reduce waste.
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of products.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Maintain compliance with all state regulations, including METRC tracking, labeling, and reporting requirements.
Implement and uphold quality control standards, ensuring all packaged products meet company and regulatory standards.
Inventory Management:
Monitor packaging materials and supplies, ensuring inventory levels are maintained and orders are placed as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate inventory tracking and reporting.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement within the department and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in packaging operations, preferably in the cannabis industry or a regulated environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising diverse teams.
Familiarity with state cannabis regulations and METRC tracking.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar software for tracking and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of cannabis products, packaging materials, and compliance requirements.
Previous experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
