We rely on our seasonal landscaping team to assist in maintaining our beautiful properties. As a seasonal employee, you will be joining a team that is dedicated to improving the lives of people right here in our communities. Our regular Landscapers will act as coaches and mentors for the new Seasonal Landscapers to provide support as you gain skills and experience that will help you succeed well beyond the 2024 season. These are great opportunities for those seeking to build their skills and enjoy working in the outdoors.
This team is hard at work throughout the summer and into fall. This is manual work involving a variety of indoor and outdoor tasks such as cutting grass, general landscaping, cleaning vacant units and common areas, and ensuring that the properties are well maintained.
These positions are full-time, short-term temporary opportunities that will be located at one of our properties: Patricia Harris Manor (Redmond, WA), Spiritwood Manor (Bellevue, WA), or College Place (Bellevue, WA) . Core work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (some flexibility may be allowed) and will conclude on or around November 14th. These are non-union positions.

The complete salary range for this position is $21.50 - $25.00 hourly dependent on qualifications and experience.
Terms Of Employment
This position works under general supervision of the property manager regarding assignments and assignment completion; however, work is generally performed without a high degree of oversight and the individual selected must be able to perform without continual and close supervision.
Physical Work Environment
Incumbent(s) must be able to meet the physical requirements of the classification and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the functions performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to dirt, dust, noise, fumes and odors. Work may be required in areas that are dark or where lighting is poor. Work requires considerable physical exertion in completing tasks and requires bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing, as well as working on ladders and tight spaces. Incumbent(s) frequently use specialized tools and light duty equipment used in grounds maintenance. Work may occasionally expose incumbent to electrical, chemical and mechanical hazards.

- Manually cares for the grounds including maintenance of lawns, shrubbery and flower beds.
- Cleans common areas such as hallways, washes windows, cleans and disinfects restrooms, sweeps, and picks up trash.
- Operates riding and push mowers; mows, blows, trims, prunes, and fertilizes.
- Logs hours and materials charges into computer systems.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of employment.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to work with and respectfully communicate with residents, co-workers and the general public.
- Ability to perform continual manual labor (bending, stooping, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking).
- Appropriate use and care of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including the ability to learn the proper and safe operation of landscaping tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance.
- Ability and willingness to work the full-time shifts (i.e., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and maintain regular attendance.
- Consent to and pass criminal records background check.
- Consent to and pass a Physical Abilities Test.
