Organizational Overview
The King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) is a public administrative agency that oversees homelessness-related programs and funding in the Seattle-King County region. Created by an interlocal agreement between the City of Seattle and King County in 2019, KCRHA is responsible for unifying and coordinating the homelessness response system across our large and diverse region. Team Overview
The Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) works across all departments of the agency, with the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) playing a pivotal role in driving strategic goals and all operational performance. This team is central to the success of the organization, coordinating high- level initiatives and ensuring the efficient execution of agency priorities. The Executive Assistant to the DCEO will operate as a critical partner, streamlining communication, managing complex workflows, and supporting the DCEO in navigating a dynamic and demanding environment. Collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team and other departments including Programs, Finance, External Affairs, Human Resources, and Equity & Impact.
Role Description
We are recruiting a dynamic Executive Assistant to provide direct support to the DCEO. This pivotal role will act as a right hand to the DCEO, by ensuring operational efficiency, streamlined communication, and effective time management. The Executive Assistant will take charge of high-level administrative responsibilities, including project management, advanced scheduling, and internal and external communications. This role demands flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
Essential functions of the role include:
- Serve as the primary liaison for the DCEO, managing communications with internal and external stakeholders. This includes and is not limited to email inbox review, categorization, and response.
- Create and maintain trackers, spreadsheets, and presentations to support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee and manage the DCEO’s complex calendar, including scheduling, prioritizing, and adjusting as necessary to accommodate urgent requests.
- Lead and manage preparation for meetings, ensuring agendas are followed, decisions are recorded, and action items are tracked.
- Take a proactive role in identifying priorities and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Act as a leader of leaders, providing guidance and support to staff and external collaborators.
- Flexibly adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines, ensuring seamless operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure the DCEO remains on schedule, stepping in to redirect or adjust as necessary.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the DCEO, including those of a highly confidential or critical nature. Prioritize and determine appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
Manage a complex calendar, arrange meetings, and as needed complete travel arrangements for the Deputy CEO while tracking upcoming deadlines, events, and appointments. Coordinate meeting logistics, including drafting agendas, providing technical support, and taking minutes in leadership meetings. Prepare, draft, edit, and review correspondence. At times, the EA will be responsible for sending correspondence on behalf of the DCEO.
Serve as liaison across departments, external agencies, respond to inquiries, take messages, and route requests appropriately. Maintain documents with appropriate file retention levels, either paper or electronically.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience supporting multiple C-level executives or providing highly detailed personal assistance to principals in high-visibility roles.
- Exceptional skills in judgment, organization, diplomacy, discretion, interpersonal relationships, and written and oral communications. Expert-level skills in email and calendar management via Microsoft Outlook.
- Highly competent with the Microsoft Office suite, including experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

- Fluency in equity and racial justice concepts and language, understanding their privilege and power, and can bring equity impact analysis to life in the context of their tasks.
- Ability to operate in a politically sensitive environment, with nuance and attention to detail.
