KCIT’s Modern Workplace Enterprise Collaborations team is seeking a highly skilled IT Production Engineer - Principal to support and administer the Microsoft 365 (M365) suite of Collaboration, Messaging, Productivity, and Unified Communications Platforms. The candidate will act as the technical lead, responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and support of the production technology domain. With extensive knowledge of the M365 platform, the candidate will troubleshoot complex technical issues, mitigate risks through innovative technical solutions, and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 issues. Additionally, the role involves supporting, designing, engineering, administering, and implementing both existing applications and new systems/enhancements.
The candidate will have ownership over the technical and operational aspects of the M365 platform, enterprise hardware, and software products critical to business functions. Responsibilities include creating standard operating procedures, processes, and documentation, maintaining services, writing automation scripts, lifecycle management, planning and implementing work, and resolving technical issues. They will collaborate with support personnel to enhance services and design solutions that meet business requirements, driving automation and best practices to improve consistency and customer experience. Additionally, the candidate will oversee technical projects, including project scope, communications, priorities, goals, and deliverables with stakeholders, assist with technical issues and architectural needs, and document designs of new and emerging technologies. Job Duties
- Oversee Technical Operations: Manage the design, implementation, maintenance, administration, and support of Microsoft 365 Online environments. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for service requests and incidents, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint Online, and other Office 365 applications.
- Project Management and Leadership: Oversee technical project aspects such as scope, communications, priorities, goals, and deliverables with stakeholders. Lead change management, architectural review, and risk mitigation processes. Serve as the technical lead on project teams, providing direction, training, and guidance to other staff.
- Documentation and Training: Document new technologies, develop and maintain standard operating procedures, and offer consultation and in-team training to enhance customer service and ensure proper documentation exists.
- Technical Support and Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, provide day-to-day operational support to ensure high availability and optimal performance, and serve as the final escalation point for technical issues.
- Development and Improvement: Write scripts for automation, reporting, and standardization of operational processes. Review current configurations and standards to identify, design, plan, recommend, and implement improvements. Participate in the development and updating of technical roadmaps and the design and implementation of solutions.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate and present solutions, business process improvements, and integrate business and technical requirements to senior management and stakeholders. Provide solutions-oriented recommendations to customers for use cases in the M365 platform.

- Oversee technical operations of the Microsoft 365 Online environments, including design, implementation, maintenance, administration, and support.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training documentation, and offer consultation to team members to enhance customer service.
- Review current configurations and standards to identify, design, plan, recommend, and implement improvements.
- Write scripts for automation, reporting, and standardization of operational processes.

- Have experience implementing SharePoint intranets, extranets, and understanding security and administration best practices for each.
- Demonstrate experience utilizing PowerShell for M365, SharePoint, Teams and Exchange Platform.
- Possess working knowledge and experience with Power Automate.
- Have working knowledge and experience with Power BI Analytics to deliver detailed visual analysis of data through dashboards and reports.
- Exhibit major incident response and resolution skills, advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and root cause analysis skills to identify potential improvements to the environment.
- Possess basic knowledge and understanding of software development languages and tools to integrate communication and collaboration technologies with other applications and business systems.
- Provide solutions-oriented recommendations to customers for use cases in the M365 platform, including defining problems, solutions, and determining the best solutions.
