King County Department of Information Technology (KCIT) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team! The Senior Data Engineer role requires knowledge and experience developing and supporting ETL and system integration processes using industry best practices. The person hired into this position will support a wide range of system integration/ETL processes that use various technologies including: Informatica, Web Services, PowerShell, Python, T-SQL and PL/SQL to transform and transmit data between systems. This position may also be required to provide support for custom-built applications that utilize PL/SQL and/or T-SQL procedures.

The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of onsite work and telecommuting. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support when working remotely.

Job Duties
- Develop, maintain, and support data integration/ETL Processes to export, transform, and process data between departmental systems (on premise and SAAS) and to populate KCIT’s data warehouses
- Develop, maintain, and support PowerShell utility scripts
- Maintain and support application and reporting database middle tier SQL
- Monitor, Administer, and Support Informatica Products and Custom-built integration jobs
- Maintain and update system documentation
- Occasionally provide off-hour support for critical systems and associated integrations
- 4 years of experience as a data engineer
- Advanced skills using SQL Server and/or Oracle databases including development of T-SQL and/or PL/SQL procedures
- Proven experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
- Clear understanding of SDLC and software development best practices
- Experience with agile and scrum methodologies
- Advanced troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills required
- Ability to adhere to established change management processes
- Experience documenting results of analysis appropriately; including experience with data flow diagrams, gap analysis, and writing functional specifications
- Experience overseeing small system enhancement upgrades
- Experience in system support: ability to troubleshoot issues, track, resolve, and document significant system problems and issues requiring a broad understanding of the entire complex system
- Demonstrated competence with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office products required
- An understanding of best practices for keeping PII, PCI, HIPAA, and CJIS data secure
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams or alone with minor supervision
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily work processing deadlines
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and skills
- Experience using Informatica Cloud or PowerCenter products and with developing, scheduling, maintaining, and supporting resulting processes
