The Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) seeks an experienced and passionate individual to serve in a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) role as the Best Start for Kids Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Manager II. This position will ensure equity and social justice (ESJ) initiatives within Best Starts for Kids (BSK) are aligned and integrated with King County's ESJ Strategic goals and approaches.

•Lead Best Starts to identify and dismantle institutional racism within department policies, practices and culture by identifying and addressing systemic inequities and barriers.
•Serve as a thoughtful and tactical partner with department leadership to advance anti-racism, equity, racial and social justice strategic vision within the Best Starts for Kids initiative.
•Lead Best Starts' Anti-Racism Activated work group.
•Organize and facilitate Best Starts caucus groups and in coordination with Best Starts' Anti-Racist Activated (ARA) work group.
•Collaborate with Best Starts' Anti-Racists Activated work group to advance anti-racism and equity trainings, policies, and best practices.
•Develop and facilitate processes to address and resolve incidents of racialized harm ensuring a prompt, transparent and equitable resolution process.
•Provide consultation, coaching and support for employees, human resources, and department leadership to ensure delivery of innovative, adaptive, and culturally responsive programs and services.
•Develop and lead restorative practices to address and repair harm, fostering accountability and healing for those impacted.
•Liaise with DCHS and PHSK department EIB managers to remain aware of ERSJ activities and broader department work.
•Other duties, as assigned.•Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in applying laws, programs, practices processes and procedures related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action, non-discrimination, anti-harassment, Equity and Social Justice, etc.
•Experience managing large scale complex projects across multiple departments and division.
•Advanced specialized knowledge of project management including successfully managing projects using current project management principles, methodologies and processes.
•Advanced knowledge and skill managing a large, complex multi-phase project that requires multiple organization integration with diverse business operations, strategic information requirements and priorities.
•Skill in organizing, planning, and executing multiple large-scale projects from vision through implementation; skill in preparing detailed and appropriate project documentation.
•Knowledge of strategic planning principles and practices; knowledge of large-organization business operations.
•Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in applying and analyzing human resources, policy and strategic planning analysis, techniques and principles with a racial equity mindset.
•Experience creating processes and systems to document, report and monitor equitable outcomes.
•Expertise facilitating conversations about, race, power and privilege.
•Strong analytical skills, including quantitative and qualitative analysis. Ability to translate metrics, research and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities.
•Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure of multiple competing priorities.
•Ability to identify structural and institutional racism and how it is operationalized within an organization.
•Ability to effectively engage in and sustain relationships with diverse people and cultures.
•Ability to present in front of groups.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information.
•Skilled in conflict management and facilitation.
•Ability to organize, prioritize, plan, schedule and follow up on tasks; elevate issues and obtain additional resources when necessary.

Salary : $131,353 - $166,498
