Summary

This position is OPEN to King County Employees only.

King County's Inquest Program is seeking a Case Management Project / Product Manager to fill a TLT role in overseeing and implementing a case management system for the Inquest Program. The ideal candidate will ensure this project is completed on schedule and within budget; executes project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables; interfaces with technical and non-technical stakeholders; and reports issues to Inquest Program Manager that may impact project completion, budget, and / or other results. This position works under close supervision of all deliverables and duties with the Inquest Program Manager.

This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary / Special Duty Assignment position that is anticipated to end in December 2025.

This vital position ensures that this project stays on track from beginning to completion. This role is responsible for finalizing the procurement, implementing and processing all of the documents into the new case management system for the Inquest Program. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented team player who enjoys problem solving and identifying processes to execute process improvements in a fast-paced work environment.

Scope of Job Duties : To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to :

  • Serve as project spokesperson and assist in working with a project team.
  • Develop and maintain electronic and paper filing systems. Upload all electronic materials to the case management system.
  • Establish project milestones and baselines; prepare status reports conveying project scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues to the Inquest Program Manager and the project team.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholder and apply tools and techniques to refine estimates of project cost, resources, time, and deliverables.
  • Navigate conflicts and negotiate resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Inquest Manager to effectively align capability for the project.
  • Manage small procurements such as hardware and software purchases; develop documentation required for the procurement.
  • Identify elements of risk; analyze and prioritize risk assessments and impacts; and develop and maintain risk plans, processes, and systems.
  • Provide technical and administrative project support from start to completion. Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of any assigned production technology.
  • Ensure that the product outcome reflects the goals of the Inquest Program. Ensure deliverables meet established quality standards.
  • Develop new project / product standards, procedures, and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Create strategic roadmaps to address product solution management.

  • Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

    We are looking for candidates who :

  • Enjoy problem solving and identifying processes and executing process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal, writing and customer service skills.
  • Have intermediate level of technology proficiency using MS Office Productivity tools in your daily work; Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams and other collaborative online tools.
  • Have the ability to manage your time and adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meet quick deadlines, and produce timely and quality work products.
  • Have ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Have basic knowledge of change management process.
  • Are analytical and have problem solving skills.
  • Have project administration, time management and organizational skills.
  • Are skilled in collaborating within a team environment, guiding group discussions, and providing constructive project feedback.
  • Position Information :

  • Work Site Details : The work associated with this position will be hybrid.
  • Location Requirement : Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. This position currently performs work remotely and onsite but, in the future, may be required to work in-office up to 3 days per week.   • Work Schedule : Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop. When working remotely employees must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work, remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours, and follow DES Hybrid and Remote Guidelines including on-camera participation during virtual video meetings.
