This clinic nurse position involves multiple responsibilities, including serving as a clinic leader, care coordinator, and case manager for patients with latent tuberculosis (TB). The Clinic Nurse will be responsible for care coordination, referrals, follow-up, medication management, and patient education. The position requires strong independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate within established protocols and policies. Working under the direct supervision of the Public Health Services Supervisor (PHSS), the nurse will perform duties with minimal supervision across various aspects of the TB program. Additionally, this role includes providing TB-related information to patients, community members, and healthcare providers. The Clinic Nurse will also participate in research projects, collaborate with study coordinators, and fulfill study-related requirements as needed.

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessment, including obtaining and reviewing detailed medical history.
  • Provide patient education on TB transmission, prevention, treatment protocols, and medication management, addressing individual questions with cultural sensitivity. 
  • Triage patients and perform nursing assessments for TB suspects and low-risk cases, including ordering labs and tracking results Manage latent TB infection cases. 
  • Oversee daily clinic operations, ensuring a smooth clinic flow and efficient patient management. 
  • Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Epic and Treats.
  • Assist Physicians in the clinic with follow-up needs, including follow-up appointments, managing labs, coordinating care, and addressing additional patient care requirements. 
  • Provide support and serve as a back-up to the study RN in conducting research screening activities. 
  • Oversee medication stock inventory and coordinate with administrative staff to ensure adequate supply levels. 
  • Update and maintain clinic procedures to align with current protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current Washington State license as a Registered Nurse or Multi-State Licensure.

  • Documentation of current BLS-CPR for Health Care Providers. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.

  • Washington state driver's license.

  • Pass background check, credentialing and pre-employment physical.


Work Schedule: This is a Career Service, 1.0 FTE, fully benefited position and is non-exempt and therefore subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, this is a clinic nursing position and telework is not possible. The typical schedule is Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Interviews for this opportunity will be February 19th and 20th. This posting will be used to fill all needs.
