The is recruiting for a Senior Housing Policy Analyst, Project / Program Manager III to join the Policy, Planning, and Special Projects team. Responsibilities for this position include report writing, supporting development of the , preparing ordinances and transmittals to the King County Council, Skyway-West Hill anti-displacement strategies implementation, King County Comprehensive Plan work plan action implementation, and other special projects.
HCD is looking for an individual with strong writing skills and a passion for advancing housing affordability solutions . The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex reports and local affordable housing policy development. This position does not entail supervising other County employees.
This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position that is anticipated to be seven months in duration. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA).
Job Duties
SCOPE OF JOB DUTIES - To be considered minimally qualified, applicants must demonstrate a background that provides the knowledge, skill, and ability to :
- Collaborate with teammates and interested parties to complete complex projects and policies relating to housing , such as the Regional Workforce Housing Initiative Implementation Plan (King County Council Motion 16690).
- Inform project planning for King County Comprehensive Plan Work Plan Actions related to Mandatory Inclusionary Housing, Community Preference, and Multifamily Housing Tax Exemptions.
- Incorporate equity, racial and social justice (ERSJ) principles and approaches in HCD's policy and planning work.
- Work independently and collaboratively to develop reports, presentations, and briefing memos for the division, other departments, other branches of government, and other interested parties.
- Represent King County in community meetings and conduct community engagement.
- Understand the effects of place, race, policy and systems-based inequities .
- Apply project management skills to successfully deliver products in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
