What are the responsibilities and job description for the DME/Medical Billing Specialist position at King Drug & Home Care?
We are a locally owned and operated home medical equipment company. Our multiple locations provide services throughout Western Kentucky. We provide retail services, home medical equipment, respiratory equipment, and diabetic supplies. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm
Medical Billing Responsibilities/Objectives
- Responsible for taking referrals for equipment by obtaining all intake information accurately
- Completing and filing documents into Document Management in Brightree
- Responsible for coverage criteria and compliance must assist service technicians in maintaining patient evaluation versus DME coverage
- Initiates Sales orders, determines charges and coverage for service requested and inform customers of financial responsibilities
- Call insurance companies upon referral for coverage status in regard to DME coverage, in/out of network providers, pre-authorization requirements, and deductibles/co-pays
- File and create patient's records
Medical Billing Job Knowledge/Objectives
- Must be able to demonstrate proficient ability to foster professional working relationships utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must demonstrate proficient ability and practical knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, billing, and accounting software
- Previous experience and understanding of medical billing technology is preferred
- All training and development is done in-house
